Picture On Kids - festival after-movie

The Picture On Kids Festival stands as a rock event created for the younger ones in Bildein, Austria. Following the substantial acclaim garnered by the Picture On Festival among adult attendees, the organizing team astutely seized the opportunity to extend the festival's offerings to encompass children as well.

I created this after-movie with the assistance of two of my friends, from the initial raw shot to the final cut.

Mockumentary TV show
Murders Beyond Hollywood
In this TV program, murders are put under the spotlight, where alongside describing the details, directly involved witnesses also speak about the events. The presentation of the murders bears a resemblance to classic Hollywood and modern film narratives, taking authentic and factual television reporting form after being extracted from their original concepts. Throughout the broadcast, previously established stories reveal a few unknown twists that significantly alter the course of events.

Mockumentary News
Rescue Operation
In this captivating mockumentary, history and art converge around an audacious project: relocating the ancient 800-year-old Church of Ják to Zsámbék, alongside a similar existing church. The goal is to establish a visitors center, capitalizing on the allure of both Romanesque architectural treasures.
Through interviews and short footage, the narrative unveils the project's ambition and historical context. However, subtle hints gradually reveal that reality diverges from the presented scheme. In truth, the Church of Ják undergoes restoration at its original site, challenging viewers' perceptions.
This mockumentary blurs fiction and reality, prompting reflection on preservation and the power of human narratives. With its engaging exploration of history and art, it delves into the intricacies of human ingenuity, ultimately reminding us of the importance of safeguarding our past.

Poem Adaptation

Fallen by Morning
On an autumn afternoon, children are drawing on the sidewalk along the road. Once they finish their drawings, rain washes away the chalk designs from the asphalt before their eyes. The kids disperse, and the fallen leaves gradually blanket the path. A group of public workers clears the fallen leaves from the sidewalk. The children return repeatedly, sketching castles. While in the midst of drawing a hopscotch, they run out of chalk. In the distance, a school bell can be heard, prompting them to head towards the school.
The adapted original poem and the translation

Veszprémi Szilveszter: Leomlott reggelre

Az iskolából lopott krétákkal
a járdaszéli nagy platánok
alá rajzoltuk az életet.
Reggelre lemosta az eső,
üresre homályosította a dér,
vagy belepték a levelek,
és a közmunkások
napról napra felsöpörték,
biztosan nem azért, hogy nekünk újra
tiszta betonunk legyen.
Valahogy mégis így alakult,
és mi új várakat rajzoltunk,
magas várfalakkal,
nyitott kapuval.
Mögé nyüzsgő, boldog utcákat
képzeltünk, és tényleg azt hittük,
hogy az elhomályosult,
lemosott vagy lesöpört nagy rajzlapunk
minden nap valami újat tartogat,
aztán egy parkolóbéli ugróiskolánál
elfogyott a kréta,
és némi bukdácsolás után
egyébként is kamaszodni kezdtünk.

Unofficial translation:

Leomlott reggelre (Fallen by Morning) by Szilveszter Veszprémi:
With stolen chalk from school,
we drew life beneath the grand plane trees
lining the sidewalk.
By morning, rain washed it away,
frost blurred it into emptiness,
or leaves might have stepped upon it,
and the public workers
swept it away day by day,
surely not for the sake of restoring
our clean concrete.
Yet somehow, it turned out this way,
and we drew new castles,
with tall walls,
an open gate.
Behind, bustling, joyful streets
we imagined, and truly believed
that our blurred,
washed away or swept aside grand canvas
held something new each day,
then by a parking lot's jumping school,
chalk ran out,
and after some stumbling,
we began growing into teenagers anyway.

Object Animation
Check-Mate
The film captures a dream sequence, which later turns out to perhaps not be a dream after all.

The story starts with the character's return home. After some struggles, he successfully climbs a wall, only to end up falling onto a house roof. He encounters three chess pieces on the roof that gives him an unconventional checkmate. The character wakes up, realizing it was a nightmare. He tries to sleep again, but after the lights off three figures are illuminated by a passing car's headlights, and they notice the sleeping main character inside the dark room.
